The team was founded in 1989 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Atlantic Racing Team (ATL) competed in Formula Ford, Formula 2000, Formula Renault 2.0L, and various GT and Enduro series including such brands as Audi, VW and Marcos.
From 2002 to 2004, ATL competed in the North American Formula Renault Championship (Fran-Am). In 2004 ATL was a pioneer in the (later named) FBMW Americas Championship with 4 cars. ATL continued in this series until 2008 while competing in the Indy Pro Series (now Indylights), with First place and podium wins with American driver, Robbie Pecorari. The team ventured in 2008 into the FBMW Pacific (Asia) Championship with 14 year-old American/Columbian racer Gabby Chaves and has remained in this series since then. ATL continues to be vocal in the direction of the series and its successor JKAS - and is an advocate for strict/fair series rules to better serve the Junior drivers that pass through junior championships. In Europe, since 2008, the team became well known in the Formula LO-Lista Series, gaining respect by scoring wins and finishing 2nd in the championship every year. The core team, a small and dedicated group, has been working together since 2002.
In 2012 ATL returned to Sedan racing with a fresh team the Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Series with 4 cars and Japanese, Malaysian, Singaporean and Australian drivers, gathering 8 first, 6 second and 3 third podium places, resulting in 2. Team and driver Championship wins.
2014 was certainly a year to remember - having had excellent pace shown in the Malaysian Super Series with the new WOLF GB08 promised to be a fantastic Prototype year. Unfortunately, with the beginning of the ASIAN LEMANS series opener in Korea a big crash stopped all efforts for the year.
2015/16 season in ALMS was certainly a success in terms of making the WOLF the fastest car in this group, but unfortunately 2 massive engine failures also meant not finishing the races.
2016 and beyond: ATL has confirmed the full entry for the 2016 Asian LeMans Sprint Series with their updated and re-engineered WOLF GB08. A consideration is also given to the new DUNLOP BRITCAR Endurance series in the UK with one CN car. See all details in the "Driver Progams Section". We are all prepared for the next years of racing to come! ATL is now embanking on different racing series in Canada, Asia and Europe again. The Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Series, the Asian LeMans Series and Canada's Atlantic Racing Academy is on the top of priorities.
